Senior Product Manager

In this role you will own defined product areas across sportsbook and/or games, guiding discovery, backlog, delivery, measurement, and optimisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Product Ownership & Backlog Management: Own the product backlog for assigned verticals (sportsbook and/or games), maintaining a well-groomed, prioritised queue of deliverables.
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, collaborating with vendor teams to ensure shared understanding.
  • Translate business objectives and customer insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Maintain documentation standards across product specifications, decision logs, and change registers.
  • Delivery & Vendor Coordination: Act as the day-to-day product contact for third-party platform and content providers.
  • Track product-related workstreams, escalating blockers and managing dependencies proactively.
  • Support UAT planning and execution, ensuring product releases meet agreed acceptance criteria before sign-off.
  • Contribute to product gap analysis, documenting delta between current and desired product state.
  • Sports & Gaming Knowledge: Apply a solid working knowledge of sportsbook or casino product fundamentals in day-to-day decision making.
  • Support the sports data and feed strategy, with awareness of providers such as Sportradar or equivalent.
  • Contribute to trading and risk product requirements in collaboration with Betting Risk and Fraud teams.
  • Uphold Responsible Gambling product standards in line with South African gambling board requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Build effective working relationships with BI, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, and VIP teams.
  • Present product updates, backlog priorities, and delivery status clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure product changes are communicated in a way that allows operational teams to plan and absorb them.
  • Support the Head of Product in preparing materials for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Performance & Insight: Track and report on product KPIs across assigned verticals, flagging trends and opportunities.
  • Work with the BI team to build and maintain dashboards that provide visibility of product performance.
  • Use customer behaviour data and testing insights to inform product decisions and prioritisation.
  • Support continuous improvement across conversion, retention, bet mix, and margin metrics.

What you will bring

  • 3+ years in a product management role, with exposure to digital consumer products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience owning and managing a product backlog end-to-end, with strong documentation habits.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate delivery across third-party vendors and internal teams.
  • Comfortable working with data to support product decisions and performance reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to translate technical complexity into clear business language.

Advantageous

  • Prior experience in online sports betting, casino, or iGaming either at an operator or platform provider.
  • Working knowledge of sportsbook product mechanics: markets, in-play, settlement, or odds.
  • Familiarity with iGaming platform ecosystems and integration concepts.
  • Exposure to regulated markets or compliance-adjacent product requirements.
  • Awareness of the South African or broader African betting landscape.
