Technical Animator
Our client is a fast-growing iGaming studio crafting online slot titles for operators around the world. They are looking for a Technical Animator who can bridge the gap between animation and engineering, taking Spine animations through to fully optimised implementations within live HTML5 game environments. You will work closely with designers and producers to deliver smooth reel spins, symbol states, win celebrations, and bonus sequences. This role is remote (regional) within the United Kingdom, and relocation is not offered.
You will thrive if you enjoy combining artistry with technical craft, collaborating with Graphic Designers, Game Designers, and Game Producers to create engaging, performant experiences that players love. You will optimise for browser performance on both desktop and mobile, ensuring consistent quality across devices.
- What you will do — bridge animation and engineering, implement Spine animations in HTML5 environments, optimise runtimes, and support reel spins, symbol states, wins, free spins, and bonus sequences.
- What you will need — 3+ years in online slots or iGaming animation; strong Spine experience (meshes, IK constraints, skeletal animation, runtime optimisation); experience implementing animations in HTML5, Pixi.js, WebGL; solid understanding of texture atlasing, sprite sheet optimisation, and browser performance; experience with JavaScript or TypeScript in game environments; a portfolio of shipped slot titles.
- Nice to have — Pixi.js v7+ experience; WebGL shader effects and particle systems; exposure to CI/CD for animation asset delivery.
In addition to hands-on work, you will join a collaborative team that values clear communication and practical problem solving. You can work remotely from within the region, with flexible work patterns that respect creativity and delivery timelines. If you are excited by the chance to shape the next generation of online slots, we would love to hear from you.
